Book Your Airport Taxi Transfers Ahead of Time

There are some important facts that you should bear in mind before you book an airport transfer. Planning for your taxi transfer ahead of time will save you much stress, time and trouble which are peculiar to booking transfers. If you are just coming into a foreign country; cabs are not usually metered and the drivers usually want the fare to be paid in advance. What is more? They can have very extortionate prices – most times, the journey doesn’t take long but the fare is costly.

I have traveled a lot through the continent of Asia – I have been to places like Thailand, Laos and Vietnam – and I have noticed that the prices paid for getting cabs were up to five times what the drivers charged the locals. If you just arrived at a foreign airport looking really exhausted and confused – you can be an easy prey to unprincipled cabbies who might take advantage of your situation to harangue you.

The disadvantages of not using pre-booked taxis

I am talking from experience as I have suffered the same thing a couple of years back. I can vividly recollect what took place when I traveled from Beijing; the Hon Soi Square, to be precise. To my surprise, I almost paid time five what the fare should have been; perhaps this was due to my naivity. Most cabbies will furtively move you into their taxies and due to your fatigue; you could easily agree to their exorbitant and ridiculous fares. Perhaps you really need to get out of the blazing heat and take a cold bathe. Airport taxi transfer Southampton

I have to say that this experience doesn’t come really cheap. The cabbie I hired had agreed to take me to where I was going – but he only drove me through some alleys and backstreets – in a bid to justify the exorbitant price of the fare. After spending some weeks there, I discovered that the cabbie had taken those routes to only make the journey look as if it was really far. If you were thinking of following your budget; this can be disastrous because it might really reduce your stay or make you end up in an inferior hotel.

So you can learn from my experience. You should pre-book your airport transfers ahead of time on the internet to avoid going through what I went. This did not happen to me only; as a matter of fact, it happened some of my friends too. A friend of mine in Vietnam ended up in another part of the town because of the barrier in communication between him and the cabbie. He had already paid the fare and the driver was reluctant to return the fare. With this being the case; the cabbie dumped him beside Phu My Hung; throwing his luggage outside and drove away with the money.

The lesson to learn here is that not all cabbies found at the airports are honest. Some of them are rogues and can easily deceive you; and rob you off your hard-earned money. Booking my airport transfers was the best thing I did to myself. I am also encouraging you to do the same as it will save you all the hassles and make your trip enjoyable. Pre-booked cabs may seem too costly but, in the long run they are really cheaper.
